Discover the beauty and wonder of Sri Lanka
About Dambulla Cave Temple
The Dambulla Cave Temple, also called the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is Sri Lanka’s largest and best-preserved cave temple complex, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking lush plains. Inside its five main caves, thousands of square meters of walls and ceilings are covered with vivid murals depicting the life of Buddha, alongside over 150 statues of Buddha, kings, and gods. The caves themselves are a serene labyrinth of sacred art, meditation spaces, and history stretching back over 2,000 years, offering a unique blend of spirituality, culture, and architecture. Visiting Dambulla is like stepping into a living museum, where devotion and artistry meet the timeless calm of the rock. 🕉️🌄🛕
